Appointment reinforces AGSI’s role in supporting coordinated sector growth and responsible steelmaking in the UAE
Arabian Gulf Steel Industries (AGSI) is pleased to announce that its Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Asam Hussain, has been appointed Vice Chairman of the UAE Steel Producers Committee (SPC) for long products, semi-finished steel, and raw materials.
The Steel Producers Committee serves as the representative body for domestic steel manufacturers, working to enhance coordination across the sector and support a stable and transparent market environment. With 19 member companies across long and flat steel, pipes, tubes, semi-finished products, and raw materials, the committee plays a central role in shaping the UAE’s industrial landscape.
Mr. Hussain’s appointment reflects his active contribution to advancing operational efficiency, strengthening alignment among producers, and championing responsible steelmaking practices. In his new role, he will support the SPC’s efforts to improve information exchange, reinforce coordinated action on shared industry priorities, and contribute to the development of recommendations that promote competitiveness, market balance, and long-term sector growth.
