Acknowledged for its recycling-led production approach and contribution to the UAE’s circularity and resource efficiency goals.
Arabian Gulf Steel Industries (AGSI), the region’s largest steel recycler and producer of Net Zero Steel, has been recognised with the Zero Waste Leadership Award 2025 by the Middle East Waste and Environmental Awards (MEWAR). The recognition reflects AGSI’s circular production approach and the zero-waste practices applied across its steelmaking operations.
AGSI’s recycling-led model enables the company to process large volumes of locally sourced recycled raw materials to produce low-carbon steel for construction and industrial applications in the UAE. This approach supports the country’s circularity objectives and contributes to national ambitions for responsible, resource-efficient industrial development.
In addition to receiving the Zero Waste Leadership Award, AGSI was shortlisted for two further categories at MEWAR 2025: the Sustainability Champion’s Award and the Metals Recycling Company of the Year (Manufacturer). These distinctions underscore AGSI’s standing in the sustainability sphere and its consistent delivery of verified impact. Each year, the company’s operations undergo extensive third-party assurance and independent audits, reaffirming AGSI’s commitment to transparency, credibility, and measurable progress.
AGSI noted that the award highlights the organisation’s ongoing efforts to advance responsible production while supporting the UAE’s broader industrial transformation. Through its large-scale recycling operations and circular production practices, AGSI continues to contribute to the nation’s resource efficiency goals, waste reduction efforts, and long-term sustainability objectives.
AGSI extends its appreciation to MEWAR for acknowledging the progress achieved across its circular, zero-waste operations.
